LUNA SEA, one of the j-rock/vk veterans and greats. Possibly my favorite band of all time(a title tied with BUCK-TICK) they pretty much set the standard of sound and image for VK we know today. And spawned a few copies that I won't mention here. There tend to be many a song from later j-rock that you can hear a bit of LUNA SEA influence in. Unfortunately, unlike BUCK-TICK, LS disbanded soon into the millenium, but their discography is wide and extensive offering something for everyone.
LUNA SEA is: - Ryuichi (vocal) - Sugizo (guitar & violin) - Inoran (guitar) - J (bass) - Shinya (drums)
LS's members each seem to have participated in their own solo projects. Unfortunately I'm only familiar with Ryuichi's, J's, Sugi's (Sugizo & THE SPANK YOUR JUICE, The FLARE) and Inoran's (FAKE? and some solo works). I can't seem to get my hands on Shinya's.
Ryuichi and Inoran have come back together to form Tourbillon, which I'll be posting some live videos of in the downloads section.

LUNA SEA's one of my favorites, too. J's an amazine bassist. I haven't heard his or anyone else's solo works except Sugizo, but I hear it's awesome.
What is Shinya doing these days anyway?

Shinya recently did some drumming for Aikawa Nanase's tour and is scheduled to record on her next album along with Pata of X-JAPAN and some other famous musicians.
And yes, Sugizo and J's solo stuff is great. Perhaps I'll post an album in the downloads section.

Shinya has been very busy this summer. Besides playing for Nanase he played drums for Maki Oghuro during her tour which wrapped up on the 12th of this month. He also performed in a few Pearl Drum special events (he's a spokesman for the company).
His latest project is called PotBelly (only Shinya XD) and he's teamed up with a young woman by the name of Milky. They have a pv out of their first single Crash! Crash! Crash! and the cd dropped August 24th I think. They are supposed to be appearing on a few tv shows but I forgot where and when.
He also celebrated his fifth year wedding anniversary May 12th by having another marriage ceremony. Sugizo was in attendance. In case no one knew, he's married to former Morning Musume member (1st generation) Ishiguro Aya and they have 3 adorable kids.
